In 2024, my 21-year-old nephew suggested that I purchase The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World by John Mark Comer. Ironically, while I purchased the book, I was too busy to read it right away.
It wasn’t until last year that I picked up my copy and made a commitment to slow down and listen to the wisdom being offered to me by a younger family member. He told me it was a book that might ruin me in the most positive way, and I can see why.
As I read, I was challenged to reckon with areas that needed healing, and understand that the noise and busyness of my schedule were preventing the touch I needed. I was so moved by this read that I decided it was something I needed to return to yearly.
Recently, I felt prompted to host a book club around this topic. Around the same time, the ministry I serve expressed a desire to expand service and community through book studies. The timing felt aligned, and this book club is being offered through Jill Monaco Ministries.
Below you’ll find the details for our upcoming study. If you’re interested in joining us, I’d love to have you participate. You can purchase the book through Amazon, which helps support Jill Monaco Ministries. A free companion guide is also provided to support practical application throughout our time together.
